Why Dove International Montessori school and what makes us unique?
We are a family school: It has been proven that the involvement of parents in the child’s education boosts their academic excellence. DIMS maintains a small number of students for each teacher (the ratio is 1:12). This enables the teachers to have a close follow up of each child at an individualised level. We also have an open door policy where parents can drop in to observe what the children are doing in the classrooms any day.
Our ‘Laboratory-like' classrooms are set up based on the Montessori education philosophy: When you enter our classrooms you will notice that they are very different from the traditional classrooms where desks are in a row and a teacher stands in front of say 20 students. Our classrooms resemble a workshop or laboratory; students are working individually or in small groups. Students are free to move as needed and are active participants in building their own knowledge.
Experienced and dedicated teachers with an international background: Montessori experience requires deep understanding of the philosophy behind the method and teachers that are able to understand the learning process of a child and their role to facilitate and foster an enabling environment.

Our facilities and activities
Healthy Nutritious Meals
At DIMS we are committed to providing healthy and nutritious meals to our children. We offer a nutritionally balanced meal at lunchtime and an appropriate snack in the mornings. Teachers sit with the children so that they learn table etiquette (i.e. students learn proper napkin placement, utensil use, chair placement, food placement and conversation during mealtime).
Our lunches are provided by Food & Stuff, Ltd. See a sample menu here.
French
The Dove International Montessori school French Programme uses the Gestures Approach or AIM, Accelerative Integrated Method to teach French. This program is based on a method that integrates drama and gestures to create an effective FSL Programme. Preschool and Elementary students receive French Language instruction 2 to 3 times per week. The highly participatory and active learning environment ensures students of all abilities and learning styles are supported.
Arts & Drama
Two times a week during the afternoons, children ages 4 and up experience art, movement, music and drama taught by specialist teachers.
Physical Health & wellness
All students experience physical education and yoga experiences weekly. They practice their gross motor skills and breathing.
